Skaggs, John Paul, 98, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Baptist Hospital East. He was a retired press operator for Potlatch Corporation. Preceding him in death were his wife, Laura and a son, Paul Eugene Skaggs. Survivors include his children, Thelma Vincent, Ray Skaggs (Julie Schultz), and Paul Eugene Skaggs, Jr.; 5 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Joseph A. Knight m. Elizabeth Louisa Victoria Reeves (widow of E. Wood).

Pvt. Knight served in Co H, 1st Texas Infantry, part of Hood's Texas Brigade. The 1st Texas served under Generals Hood, J.B. Robertson, and J.Gregg. The regiment fought with the Army of Northern Virginia from Seven Pines to Cold Harbor except when it was detached with Longstreet at Suffolk, Chickamauga, and Knoxville. It was involved in the Petersburg siege north and south of the James River and later the Appomattox Campaign.

Sarah Caroline was the daughter of Millington Scoggin and Mary H. Carter. She married William Jay Barron Oct 7, 1845 in Troup County, Georgia. They had nine children.

Elisha Harrison Scogin was the son of Gresham Scogin and Winney Rene Watson both of Georgia. He married Martha A. Barron on Jan 7, 1845 in Troup County, Georgia. They had 10 children. He served in the Civil War in Company I, 35th Regiment of the Georgia Volunteer Infantry of the Army of Northern Virginia of the C.S.A. from Chattooga County, Georgia called the Chattooga Mountaineers. Records show the following information about Elisha W. Scogin - private September 25, 1861. Wounded at Mechanicsville, Va., June 26, 1862. Elisha survived the Civil War and was buried in Farmersville Cemetery.

Michael Gerard Duca of the clergy of the diocese of Dallas, U.S.A., rector of the Holy Trinity Seminary at Irving, as bishop of Shreveport (area 28,837, population 824,000, Catholics 40,500, priests 51, permanent deacons 22, religious 70), U.S.A. The bishop-elect was born in Dallas in 1952 and ordained a priest in 1978.

Norma Jane McLemore of Ennis, Texas passed away on June 2, 2012 at the age of 84. She was born on July 31, 1927 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Claude and Nina Bell Hall. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1944 and married Billy Thomas McLemore on June 5, 1949. She worked for Ennis Business Forms for 30 years until her retirement. Jane is survived by her husband, Billy T. McLemore; sons: Michael T. McLemore and Steven A. McLemore and wife Sandra; grandson, Nickolaus McLemore and granddaughter, Melanie McLemore. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Nina Bell Hall and her brother, Harry Hall. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 2 p.m. in Myrtle Cemetery of Ennis under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
